Libraries
are starting to become the trend of the past. The future holds the key to
studies which are becoming electronic. The generation of the 21st
Century is moving forward towards electronic sources for learning. The new
generation does not pay attention to the printed manuscript; they are more
dependent on the eResources that are available at their fingertips. A person
who has visited, studied and spent hours in a library for the preparation of
exams understands the importance of a printed resource.
Library
is a great means to diminish the difference between people. Individuals of all
age groups, educational level, physical ability, income level can sit together
and read to their heart’s content. A library not only equalizes but empowers
the individual also. The huge array of books can hone one’s skills, instruct,
support them to lead better lives. Libraries also build up the nation’s cultural
heritage. They collect, preserve and reserve the history and culture of a
nation in the books, and other documents. The importance of a library can
always be confirmed by a scholar. Even a researcher, of the most initial level
can also declare that the libraries are of utmost importance. Libraries are the
robust columns which support the literacy of a nation. Many children and adults
learn to read at their school and public libraries via story times, research
projects, summer reading, tutoring and other opportunities. Others come to the
library to learn the technology and information skills that help them answer
their questions, discover new interests, and share their ideas with others.
The
new era of electronic learning enhances the learning, but libraries open up the
minds of the readers. Learning is a continuous quest, which can only be
satiated by the huge assortment of books that a library offers. Libraries can
be called out-dated by the new generation but they will never lose their
importance.
